How do I make the success of my healthcare innovation visible ?

Our research supports healthcare decision makers in proving Triple Aim impact by making healthcare innovation measurable.

Through our independent research and real-world analytics, we reveal the hidden value of your healthcare innovation.

Our clients appreciate the unique insights our work provides. We are not a large unwieldy organization, which allows us to conduct efficient research and complete projects on time and within the available budget.

We are proud to be a trusted partner of frontrunners in healthcare.

Our years of experience allow us to bring experts together to solve complex challenges. We believe in person-centered care. We immerse ourselves in the patient’s perspective and know-how to develop patient-centered research.

Evidence Synthesis

Evidence synthesis can be used to determine the value of healthcare innovation. Qualitative or quantitative evidence synthesis is a powerful means of providing funders with essential information because all the (scientific) knowledge surrounding a specific innovation or treatment is collected and summarized in an easily readable way.

Real World Evidence

For any healthcare organization, at least one pillar of Triple Aim is an important – if not the most important – outcome. To achieve your organizational goals, it is necessary to measure KPIs so that you can adjust and improve. We offer a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods with which we monitor, evaluate and provide insight into the goals and KPIs. This allows – where necessary – to adjust and optimize.

Economic Modelling

Does the innovation result in cost savings? What about an improvement in quality and health gains? Essenburgh uses advanced scientific methods for analysis, modeling, and impact assessment, providing insight into the (financial) impacts of the innovation (strategy).

Patient Centered Outcomes

Mapping the patient experience provides useful information with regard to your care innovation. Besides clinical effectiveness and patient safety, the patient experience is a fundamental aspect of care quality. Through patient-centered research, we provide insight into the patient’s perspective.

Before we start a project we will have several meetings to determine the research design. In these conversations, we will ask critical questions to get a good picture of your organization, product, or service. Then together we look at the challenge your organization/institution is facing and how we can best research this. We draw up the research objective(s) and tell you about comparable previous research projects. At the end of the exploration, we aim to come up with a research proposal in which we present how the research project will take shape. Upon approval, we will proceed to the actual research phase.

Based on the prepared research plan, our team of researchers gets to work. In most cases the project consists of the following research phases:

Research design – A thorough analysis of the research question is translated into a design with a concrete research plan.
Data collection – The necessary data is collected in various ways, depending on the research question and design.
Data analysis – After the data collection, the data is analyzed, after which conclusions can be drawn and recommendations made.
Report – A comprehensive presentation with all insights and follow-up steps.
Publication – If desired, we can publish the research results in a peer-reviewed journal. This helps to convince financiers and other stakeholders of the added value of your care innovation.

A research project is fun, but the results are even more fun! That is why we stay in touch after the research project. There are 3 fixed contact moments during which we evaluate together how the project went and where challenges still lie in the implementation of the strategy.

We believe that a project is not finished when the research results are presented. By maintaining intensive contact – especially after the research – together we take care of the implementation of the recommendations and follow-up steps.

Frequently asked questions?

It is best to engage us right from the start of a project. We can help you write the research objectives for your grant application or help you determine which research approach best fits the research question. However, it is also possible to involve us in an ongoing research project. Please contact us for the possibilities.
It depends on the size and complexity of the project. Important to remember is that thorough and qualitative research requires the necessary time and attention. In addition, other factors also play a role; For example, has the data collection already been carried out? Which research methodology should be applied? Which parties are involved in the research? Etc. etc.

For more information about your specific situation, please contact us without obligation.

Yes! Each research question has its own methods of data collection and analysis. We have extensive experience with various research methods, including questionnaire research, interviews, surveys, experimental research, and more.

Take advantage of our experience to decide which approach/method is best for your research question. Schedule a no-obligation consultation with us.

Our consultants have extensive research experience and are well equipped to meet your (medical) research needs. We have experience with various types of research and (statistical) analyses – from simple descriptive analyses to logistic regressions to advanced statistical methods. Please contact us so that we can assist you not only in collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data but also in presenting the results in a way that is truly useful for your stakeholders.
Good idea! Yes, then you’re in the right place at Essenburgh! We are happy to work with you to design a combination of research and training that best fits the needs of your project.

For example, what we can do for you:

Provide training on effective research design and implementation.
Provide training on how to conduct effective research and how to monitor progress.
Working with your team to carry out a research project from A to Z – we take your team through all the steps of the research process.
Please contact us about how we can combine training/education and research for your organization/institution.

Research in healthcare is not easy. We pride ourselves on being able to take a deep dive into any health-related research question and quickly understand the core of the problem/issue, creating effective solutions.

However, we define “healthcare” broadly. For example, we have also conducted research for elementary schools, secondary schools, commercial companies, mental health institutions, and municipalities. If your research project relates to ‘healthcare’ – in the broadest sense of the word – we are here for you!

Absolutely! Our projects vary in size and scope; from a small research setting with about three experts to multi-year cohort studies in multiple countries with multiple research teams.

We can perform all phases of a research project for you or you can hire us for a few hours to answer a few questions regarding a specific part. We are happy to help you with your research project!
